Have an abundance of candy canes or peppermint candies around your house during the holidays? Don’t waste them when you can use them in a beautiful mint-flavored cake.
The convenience of using box cake mix makes this a quick and easy dessert to put together. Use red food coloring and peppermint extract paired with crushed candies to create a red swirl in the center of the cake for an eye-appealing touch.
Shoot, I’ve made this cake even when it wasn’t the holiday season. Sometimes, the dollar store will have sales on leftover seasonal candy and I’ll scoop those peppermint canes up like nobody’s business!
