It’s no secret that I am a lover of all things chocolate. I can’t get enough of the stuff. Cakes, pies, candy, whatever, doesn’t matter. If there’s chocolate, I’m eating it. So, when I walked into my girlfriend’s house a few weeks back for our monthly girl’s night in, I was drooling at the sight of a giant chocolate cake sitting on her counter top. I knew that it couldn’t possibly be for us… a whole cake? I asked her what the cake was for, and much to my surprise, she told me it was indeed for us.
Oh My Heavens! Her husband couldn’t leave fast enough. I couldn’t wait to dive in. I was a little unsure about the bananas on top when I cut my first piece. It looked a lot like this cake from Spend With Pennies.
I’m not a huge fan of the fruit usually, but the flavor combination found in this delicious dessert was like nothing I had ever experienced. We sat there and ate half the cake and gossiped about life like we usually do. I think the night was slightly more enjoyable with the cake though.
I thanked my best friend for thinking of me and had her write down the recipe before we parted ways. I’ll be making this really soon!

Quick Tip: If garnishing with bananas make sure to do it right before it is served so that they don’t brown before you eat it.
