I grew up appreciating most if not all types of food that’s being presented to me. My Mom always said that there were hundreds of kids all around the globe who went hungry, and they didn’t have the chance to eat such food. That thought alone always motivated me to finish what was in front of me with gratefulness. My husband and I grew up in the same type of home, and we wanted to impart this very same mindset to our kids.
There was a time in my life when I never appreciated anything creamy. No, really, you have to believe me. As kids, we pretty much have the same concept about things in life; and for me, any twist used to be so weird.
For example, Mom used to cook spaghetti marinara. One time, she stirred in cream with the sauce. I remember finding it extremely yummy, but since it was new to me, I didn’t eat it.
The same thing happened with this steak recipe. When my Mom stirred in cream, I didn’t want to eat it at first. But of course, hunger won and I tried it- I never looked at steak the same way again. I guess that was the time I started obsessing about anything creamy.
This Swiss Steak recipe from Le Crème Dela Crumb will give you something to swoon over in the next few days. This is addicting- you’ll find yourself falling in love with the sauce and the tenderness of the steak itself. Go on and try this- I dare ya.
