To be honest with you, I didn’t always know that much about German kitchen. I knew they enjoyed beer and sausages – or bratwurst, but that was about it. Until I got a new friend who is originally from Germany but lately has traveled and lived around the world in the most amazing places. I once asked him if I were to make one German dish in my life, what would he suggest I make? There was no hesitation, not even for a second, when he answered. He said I should absolutely make goulash.
He was supposed to give me his mother’s recipe for it, but we got so carried away in our conversation that we forgot about the goulash. And it didn’t occur to me until the following week, when he had already traveled to his next destination, so I had to do an online search for a recipe. This is what I came across, and it was so delicious I can’t wait to see my friend again, to serve this and ask if it’s close to the one his mother makes!
