Chili, cheese, and what else do you love on your hot dog? I can’t have it without onions myself, but that can be a topping if you like. My family was in shock when I made this because as much as I love hot dogs, I try to limit them as a rare indulgence.
The crispy cheese top that stings when you take a bite along with the cornbread crust and top it’s true mouth magic with the toppings in between. There’s only three steps before this deliciousness goes into the oven, making it a weeknight choice in my house. This is truly a dad and kiddo pleaser.
I did end up topping mine with chopped onion and mustard, and the others put just ketchup to make it fun. Even though I put onions inside along with the bell peppers and celery no one noticed! Gosh I love when that happens, it’s so sneaky!
