Pranksters are sometimes the victims of their own schemes. I had to laugh at this one because it’s Edward, one of my cousin pranksters. Whenever we have a reunion, the boys, despite their ages now (most of us are in our mid to late twenties) always got together in a huddle. Whenever they do that, we all become cautious. We know they’re always planning something that would embarrass someone in the family. Whoever wasn’t there to witness the mini powwow, well, that someone was usually the victim.
I knew it was going to be his sister because she was caught up work and wasn’t there yet. During lunch, everyone was present already. We saw Edward give her sister a serving of Aunt Beth’s jalapeno dip. Her sister was a bit like me; she barely tolerated anything spicy so she was hesitant. When Edward became insistent, she of course knew there was something wrong. In the act of taking the dip, his sister suddenly picked a huge mound of the dip and shoved it into his mouth. Edward was shocked that he chewed and swallowed it. A few seconds later, he was choking and crying. It turned out he put a lot of chili on the serving that he gave to his sister. It was a pretty lame joke and he suffered the consequences. I can’t say he didn’t deserve it. He did waste a perfectly good serving of the dip!
