I have never been a fan of Brussels sprouts. I find them a bit distasteful, with a strong flavor that is definitely not to my liking. But along with that, I have noticed that they are fairly healthy. So in the few times I attempted to lose weight, I tried eating these grilled but UGH, they were just yucky and not my thing. Maybe I was preparing them wrong? I do not know, but I do know I never wanted to see them ever again. Until I ran into this recipe that is.
I realized that I could probably enjoy Brussels sprouts if they were covered in cheese. And sauce. And had chicken. And pasta. Yep, that sounds like something I could get on board with. It was like a lasagna…but the hidden ingredient was Brussels sprouts. I could definitely do that! So, without telling my kids what was in this, I added Brussels sprouts to their favorite lasagna recipe. They had no idea that I had fooled them with this little extra ingredient (which I know they would have resisted had I told them about it). They downed it, no questions asked and guess what I realized? Brussels sprouts ain’t so bad after all!
