You know it’s not a joke when even Lupin made Harry eat chocolates after that dementor attack at the Hogwarts Express—chocolates do make us feel better when we’re down. But it’s not just because of the scientific facts involving the chemicals in chocolates. Chocolates make us feel better because their taste make us happy. While sweet, they’re not as sugary sweet as candy. While hard, they soften and melt in your mouth.
Desserts with chocolate as the main ingredient are a surefire way to a good day. When I know I will have a stressful week, I try to make a batch of brownies that will supply me for a week. They’re my go-to comfort food when I feel like the world is ending. I just snatch one before I leave and I just know I will have a good day!
