As a little girl, I can remember my grandma Lila making this delicious sauce with rhubarb and strawberries. The fruit came right out of her backyard! She would heat this sauce up and eat it out of a dainty bowl with a spoon like it was soup. I preferred to have mine over ice cream. My grandpa ate his special sauce over toast. One thing i didn’t really like about grandma’s sauce was the rhubarb. I mean, it was okay and the addition of the strawberries really sweetened it up, but still, I could have done without it. So, that’s why I’m sharing this lovely strawberry sauce recipe with you all today and it is sans rhubarb 🙂
This strawberry sauce uses minimal ingredients and is super easy to make. Everything simmer son a pot on your stove until it’s boiled down to perfection. You cans erve this sauce warm or cold, it really doesn’t make a difference. Feel free to eat it from a bowl with a spoon like my grandma did or pour it over ice cream, pie, or anything else that tickles your fancy. You’ll find that this strawberry sauce has many uses.

Quick Tip: Make sure to hull your strawberries very well because you don’t want any green bits turning up in your sauce. Yuck!
