There are times when a yellow butter cake is needed. I’d like to think that those times are all of the time, haha! This recipe is for an amazing butter cake that totally melts in your mouth. It is great for weddings, showers, and everything in between. It really isn’t that hard to make, either. I like the fact that this cake can work as both a single layer cake and a tiered cake.
I enjoy using a buttercream frosting on this cake but my husband prefers whipped so we’ve had it both ways. If you use whipped, add some fresh berries to the top for a lovely presentation and a mouthful of yum! I have a friend who likes to cover this cake with a thick layer of chocolate frosting and I have to say, it’s not bad either!
