My Aunt Sandy used to make the best cabbage rolls. I still remember the first time she offered me one. I think I actually gagged at the thought of eating cabbage. Of course I was being overly dramatic, as most kids are when they are offered something new. That’s especially true when that something new is a vegetable. She just laughed at me and told me to trust her and try it. I did trust her, so I had to try it. She was right, they were delish.
I tried making them a few times with her, but she was so good at it, I could never keep up. Now that I’m an adult, I have a little more patience in the kitchen. One day I decided that I was going to take another crack at it.
Boy was I glad I made that decision. They went together way easier than what I had remembered, but they tasted just as good as Aunt Sandy’s. Her recipe is very similar to this one from All Recipes. We always eat the whole pan full!
