One night not too long ago, my husband and I were invited over to dinner at his boss’s house. I was really nervous about going. My husband was nervous, but I think I had him beat. I mean, it was his boss. The guy that signed his checks. I wanted to make a good impression on him. After all, if my husband ever wanted to advance in his position, I didn’t want his boss to look back and think about a terrible dinner experience. I bought a new outfit and got my hair done that day, just to boost my confidence.
I couldn’t believe how relaxed and laid back him and his family were. As soon as we walked in the door, all my worries instantly floated away. I knew that we were going to have a good time. His wife had prepared an awesome meal including these Jamaican beef patties that I had never even heard of.
It looked so informal for a dinner party, but as soon as I took a bite, I knew why she had picked to serve them. They were just like this recipe from Group Recipes, and simply amazing! I contained myself that day and only had one, but now I make them at home and can eat as many as I want!
