My daughter was bringing her first every boyfriend over for dinner. I wasn’t nervous in the least bit, but her and my husband were both wearing a hole in the floor in separate rooms with their pacing back and forth. This was the day that he had been dreading since the day she was born. We only had one daughter, so that was his baby girl. The thought of anyone getting too close to her made him crazy. I thought it was cute. It reminded me of my first boyfriend and how in love I was.
I had this carbonara bubble up going in the oven and it was set to be done at six o’clock, when he was going to arrive. It was a recipe that I had seen on Julie’s Eats and Treats some time ago and I continue to use it regularly. I was confident that it would help everyone relax a bit and just enjoy the evening.
The boyfriend looked more nervous than my husband and daughter combined sitting at the table. It was a nice meal though and everything went fairly smoothly. I think my husband has finally stopped sweating!
