Every year I get tired of taking the same old potluck dishes every where that I go. They are fun to start out with, but then I get bored. Some of the people that I see over and over again get bored of seeing the same things too. I love to cook and come up with new recipes though, I think I should have been a professional, but it’s not in the cards for me now. Anyway, I take my free time and do what I love. So, when I got invited to my first BBQ last year, I wanted to make a salad.
What runs through my head instantly are the mac salads, potato salads, and other traditional dishes. I wanted something new. I found a recipe on Recipe Lion for 7-layer salad, and not only did it sound good, the presentation looked amazing. Almost too good to eat! That’s the one I was making!
It was really fun to watch this layer up. I have done it a few different ways since that first trial run, mixing up the ingredients and the colors. It always looks really nice when it’s set out on the table. People think I went overboard, but it’s not hard at all.
