My great-grandmother was almost 100% German. She actually traveled to the United States from her native land to achieve what everyone else was seeking out… “The American Dream.” My aunt, who is a very good cook, always used to spend time with her learning about all of their traditional dishes. She would then make them for us whenever we would go to her house. Her German pancakes, just like this recipe from All Recipes, was one of my all time favorites.
I not only liked the taste, I liked helping her make them. They used to bubble up so nice and big, it was like watching a science experiment. Whenever we would go spend the night, I would always put in a request for these.
The nice thing that I have discovered now that I’m the adult, the fact that you probably already have everything in your cupboards to make this at any given time. I know that I make them for my kids now a lot for breakfast, and sometimes even for dinner!
