The Sauce Is The Real Star In This Pasta Show

I have tasted a lot of carbonaras, pasta marinaras, aglio oglios, and alfredos in my whole life. Most of them tasted really good that I couldn’t forget about their taste even until the next day. Some of them tasted just ordinary; eatable but ordinary. Some of them didn’t taste good at all, but because they were made by friends, I still ate them all. The secret to a good pasta recipe is not really about the pasta itself, but rather about the sauce. If you have an amazing pasta sauce recipe, you don’t have to worry about a lot of things. It will take you to places.

As a kid, I watched my Mom make a lot of pasta with different sauces. Her specialty was her pasta carbonara. Her version was super rich- she really used a lot of cream and cheese, making cheese lovers go crazy over it.

My Grandma has her own specialty- seafood marinara. She was more comfortable in making tomato-based pasta than anything else. I on the other hand prefer oil-based pasta more than anything else (pestoholic here).

This crockpot cheese tortellini pasta recipe seems to be the compromise between my Mom’s, my Grandma’s, and mine’s tastes. It’s creamy and cheesy; it’s tomato-based; and it has that texture that reminds me of oil-based pasta.

The sauce is amazing- you need to try this for your family. You don’t want them to miss such a lovely pasta recipe.
