I have made lemon meringue pie before, and even apple meringue pie. But I don’t think I have ever made banana meringue pie ever. Even my Aunt Christine hasn’t made one and she’s the type to make everything (and when I say everything, I mean everything). So when I came across this banana meringue pie recipe from Hugs And Cookies, I am a bit skeptical and well, curious at the same time. I knew I had to make this.
My husband was on “kids duty” that weekend. I took the opportunity to go to the grocery and buy the ingredients that I needed for the pie, and also to sneak in a haircut. I worn my hair long for a long time, it was time to chop it off.
I came home with a new haircut and a bag of groceries. And all my husband could say was, “where’s all your hair?” It didn’t make me unhappy though (I even laughed); I knew how he loved my long hair.
After he got over his tiny tantrum about my hair, he finally admitted he liked it. I rewarded him by telling him we’ll have something nice for dessert. And his youthful face lit up like a thousand watt light bulb!
I think it’s safe to say that the banana meringue pie was a success! We each had a huge slice and we still wanted another after. My kids devoured theirs almost as fast as we devoured ours!
Ah yes, definitely a success!
