I have a little personal rule when it comes to making my desserts. If I will be serving my desserts to acquaintances and friends, I make sure to do everything the old-fashioned way. “The old-fashioned way” meaning I have to exert effort and time in making them. However, if it’s just a personal craving of mine and my husband, I search for easy desserts that will satisfy that craving in no time.
It doesn’t mean that I won’t exert effort for my family. My family is first and foremost the most important for me. However, I won’t feel embarrassed if I serve my family a not-so-perfect-looking dessert.
I am talking about slow cooker desserts. They are not the best when it came to aesthetics, but they taste as good as the ones done the regular way. Sometimes, they even taste better because the flavors are more concentrated.
Sweet treats made from slow cooker always help me give a little surprise to my family. Even if I am too busy during the weekdays to make them a “proper” dessert, I can still give them something. And it’s not really bad either.
This pumpkin bread pudding recipe from Cook The Story is cooked in slow cooker. It tastes really great for breakfast as it’s not too sweet. But you can also serve this as a dessert if you want to.

Quick Tip: If you like this pudding sweeter, increase the brown sugar to 1 and 1/4 cups.
