Who Would Have Thought It Was Possible To Make These With Only 5 Ingredients?!
My grandmother always used to say cooking isn’t rocket science, and based on the amount of ingredients she was using to make her most famous dishes, she was right. It seemed like she was able to use 5-ingredient recipes to whip up any cake, casserole or soup, and somehow they all turned out super flavorful. I guess it was all the love that she poured into her recipes.
When I moved away from home I had this idea that I would become a great cook if I taught myself to use fancy ingredients and complicated instructions. After about a half a dozen failed attempts I had to admit grandma was right. I swallowed my pride and asked her for a cooking lesson. She never said anything but I think she was amused by my experiments!
Now that I’m getting closer to the day when my kids are moving away from home, I think fondly of grandma and everything she taught me. I’ve started to put together easy recipes I can hand out to my kids, and I hope they will find the joy of cooking. These 6 recipes are some of my favorites – I hope you enjoy them!
