SOS is a classic supper dish that folks have been eating for years. I’m glad I’ve joined them!
As a kid, I would spend a lot of time visiting my grandparents at their little yellow house in the small town of Pigeon, MI. I always LOVED going there. My grandpa would frequently tell me stories about his days in the Navy. One thing he shared with me was some of the food he and his fellow sailors would eat. SOS was on this list. I giggled at the name because, in my young mind, grandpa was saying a swear word haha!
My grandpa would make SOS for himself, grandma, and me to eat. I lOVED it! Such a simple meal to make. I think the way everything soaked into the toast was my favorite part.
