Simple Beef And Vegetable Stir-Fry For When It’s Been “One Of Those Days”

I love beef stir fry! Whenever I do Chinese take-out, it’s always on the menu.

Paired with Yangchow Chinese rice and it’s a perfect meal. The best beef stir-fry that I have tasted was my friend’s. She is oriental so she uses oriental ingredients and employs oriental techniques. She has this cupboard full of spices that she uses in every dish. For stir-fry, I notice that instead of honey and soy sauce, she uses oyster sauce. And while I thought it won’t make a difference, it does! Oyster sauce has a stronger flavor than honey and soy sauce combined.

It’s also thicker, which adds to the thickness of the sauce absorbed by the meat. She also puts sesame seeds in the stir-fry and a few nuts. Sounds nuts? Probably. Tastes nuts? Never. It tastes like authentic Chinese beef stir-fry.

The taste of this beef stir fry recipe from Taste of Home reminds me of my friend’s version. I wasn’t sure how it happened, but the recipe managed to let me achieve that authentic taste of Chinese beef stir fry—it tastes as good as my friend’s! You have to check this out. You wouldn’t want to miss this lovely dish!
