Just about every weekend, our house is full of people. At least that’s how it seems.
I think it’s because of our central location. Probably because of the fact we have a recreation room and swimming pool too. It’s usually the kids’ friends that come and hang out, but sometimes we have some of our adult friends show up too. I love to entertain, so all of this is a good thing to me. Each weekend, I try and plan on making a decent lunch around noon or one o’clock on Saturday.
The idea is to make enough that we have leftovers and I don’t have to cook that night. Usually, my plan works flawlessly. There were a few side dishes left, but all the sandwiches were gone!
All the guests that had eaten once came up and personally thanked me and told me how good they were. It was nice to get that appreciation for once. I all too often get a “thank-you” shout out as people are walking out the door, and that can be frustrating.
