My grandma could always be found in the kitchen. If she wasn’t there when we walked in the door, it was unusual. She wasn’t there because she had to be… she was there because she wanted to be. She had always wanted to go professional in cooking or baking, it just never was in the cards for her. It’s too bad too, because she was amazing at it. There is nothing that came out of that kitchen that I didn’t want to eat the whole pan, bowl, or plate of.
I never really watched her during the creation process, which I am regretting now that she’s gone. I would have had so many nice things to make for my family today without having to search for new ideas. One item that I found in my search on NeighborrFood was cream cheese pound cake.
Believe it or not, Grandma used to make something just like this. I didn’t even realize it until after I had made it myself and took a bite. I took me right back to those many times we sat in Grandma’s kitchen enjoying her most recent creation.
