If there’s one thing that I got from my Granny, it’s her love and skill when it comes to gardening. She was amazing at it, and I used to spend hours with her out there just trying to soak up everything I could as far as her knowledge in the hobby. I also enjoyed the quality time we spent out there. It’s something that I will cherish until the day that I die. Granny doesn’t garden too much anymore, but she still loves to cook because it’s not quite so difficult to move around the kitchen.
Whenever I bring her a fresh head of cabbage from my garden at home, she already has the bacon going to add to it. I know that we will be eating good that night when she makes this recipe from Creole Contessa.
I follow her around the kitchen just about as closely as I did in the garden. It’s a smaller space I guess so I don’t have to be so close. I am going to get memorized as many of these amazing recipes that she cooks as I can, and hopefully pass them down to my granddaughter someday.
