For the past four years my baby brother has been serving in the Army. I am so proud of him that I can’t quite put into words how much I appreciate his service. I can’t believe that he has been in the Army for four years already! It feels like just the other day we were all hugging him goodbye as he was shipped off to boot camp! Boy, how time flies by so fast!
Well, our family does not get to see him very often. And we miss him dearly that is for sure! But he was finally coming home and it was for his birthday too! I was so happy that we not only got to spend time with him, but it was great getting to spend time with him on his birthday! I knew that I wanted to make him something special to eat! That’s how my family rolls! We are all about the food.
My mom had the birthday dinner all mapped out. My brother is not really a cake person, but I do know what dessert he has always loved and that is buckeye brownie cookies! I remember him eating a ton of these when he was just a little kid! He always loved them so I knew they would be the perfect treat! And he most certainly did love them! He said you can’t get this kind of stuff living in the barracks!
