I remember eating mashed potatoes and gravy with almost every meal when I was younger and living at home. My Mom always made the best. No matter how many times I’ve tried it, I can never get mine to come even close to matching up with hers. When my husband and I got married, it was just my luck that his favorite side dish was mashed potatoes. He liked his a little different from the way I had been making them for so many years, so I found myself in a little bit of pickle at that time.
That’s when I decided I was going to do something completely different and start my own mashed potato side dish. My mom could keep hers, and my mother-in-law could use hers. I was going to use this one that I found on Recipe Lion. Cheese and potatoes… you can’t go wrong!
These went together so easily. It’s really only a couple of extra steps, so there isn’t a lot of work involved. The ingredients are simple too so the cost isn’t that much higher than the traditional dish. The best part… everyone loves them!
