Last year I think I was invited to at least six or seven different graduation parties. It was that generation in the family where kids were growing up and moving on. It seemed as though everyone I knew was graduating at the same time. It was nuts, but nice to spend all that time with those that I love so much. Just about every weekend we were meeting at someone else’s house to show the graduate how proud we were of their accomplishments, and to have some good food.
One thing’s for sure about graduation parties, the menu is pretty much always the same across the board. Meatballs, potatoes, various salads, a cake, and some other desserts. It’s usually pretty good, but it also gets kind of boring.
When I put cole slaw on my plate for the fourth or fifth time that summer, I didn’t expect what I got. It was like this recipe from Group Recipes and it was by far the best version of the salad that I had ever had. I snagged that recipe before leaving I can tell you that much!
