There’s grilled cheese sandwiches… and then there are masterpieces like this one. When I saw this on The Recipe Rebel a while back, I ran, well I drove, right up to the grocery mart as soon as I read it. I was struggling with what I was going to make the family for dinner, and it was like this fell right into my lap. There isn’t a single person living under my roof that doesn’t like grilled cheese sandwiches, so we have them at our house all the time. Now, I had a whole new recipe to go off of.
I had the bacon going so that lit my husband’s interest right away. You could put bacon on anything and I’m pretty sure that he would eat it without questioning what was underneath. My kids love cheese, so they had that staring them in the face when I cut them open. There wasn’t a single complaint when I set these out.
The dinner table was pretty quiet that day, until everyone was done eating. The requests for more slapped me silly practically. I unfortunately didn’t have the ingredients to make more that night, but I’ve made them several time since!
