Every morning is pretty much the same at our house. Everyone hits the snooze button on their alarm clocks 112 times until the absolute last minute. Then, everyone is rushing around, pushing one another out of the bathroom trying to get ready. Each kid grabs a toaster pastry or a bowl of cereal before running down the street to catch the bus. My husband and I usually settle for a cup of coffee on the way to work. That’s it… that’s a weekday morning at our place. The weekends are different though.
Thank goodness things slow down by Saturday. The kids usually sleep in, and instead of gulping my hot drink down on the commute, I get to sit with the love of my life and slowly sip on our favorite morning beverage. I like to take a few minutes and make a nice homemade dish too, like this yummy blueberry cream cheese coffee cake.
I found the recipe on Julie’s Eats & Treats and it’s one of my all-time favorites. Everyone looks forward to the weekends, knowing that this is going to be served up instead of that other boring stuff.
