My brother and his wife were coming home for a week in the summer last year. Not usually a big deal, except for they had been overseas for an entire year, and nobody had seen them. We wanted to do something special that would encourage the whole family to get together. Not only would that be more fun, it would also be easier on them to see everyone at once than trying to travel around to visit each and every person in the short time that they were going to be back. I decided to host a BBQ.
I asked that everyone bring a dish to pass, and my Aunt said that she would do a potato salad. I never had made homemade potato salad, so I was excited to see what she brought. It was so much better than potato salad… it was bacon ranch potato salad, just like this recipe from Julie’s Eats & Treats.
This was one of the first dishes to disappear. I had lots of leftovers of everything else, but not this. What was left, my brother and sister-in-law took back to their hotel for later… I couldn’t say no to that!
