An Old Childhood Favorite

When my kids have a group of kids walk in the door with them after school, which happens way more than what I would like sometimes, I always start whipping this together right away. I don’t want them emptying out my cupboards and fridge eating everything in sight. This gives everyone a little snack that they are going to love. It’s so much faster and easier than trying to make up a bunch of different sandwiches, and it tastes just as good! Check out what they are saying about this recipe over at All Recipes:

“Here’s a great combination that kids and adults will both enjoy! Peanut butter and jelly meets pizza for a great lunch or party pizza!”

This is great when you have picky eaters… everyone loves peanut butter and jelly!

Ingredients

1 tablespoon Gold Medal all-purpose flour, or as needed

1 (1 pound) loaf frozen bread dough, thawed

1 cup Jif peanut butter

3/4 cup grape jelly

1 egg, beaten

2 tablespoons Domino white sugar

Instructions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).

Dust a flat work surface with flour; roll bread dough into an oval shape that is 1/4-inch thick.

Spoon peanut butter into a microwave-safe bowl; melt in the microwave at 50% power for 45 seconds. Spread evenly over dough with a spatula.

Pour grape jelly into a microwave-safe bowl; melt in the microwave at 50% power for 20 seconds. Spread over peanut butter with the spatula.

Roll dough lengthwise toward you and shape into a ‘U’; transfer to a nonstick baking sheet. Brush egg over dough; sprinkle sugar on top.

Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown, about 15 minutes. Let stand for 5 minutes before slicing.

Quick Tip: Stay light with your fillings so your stromboli doesn’t get too mushy.
