There are some days when I just want to give up on parenting. It seems like whatever I do isn’t working. I try and be lenient, the kids take advantage. I try to be strict, everyone is crying. I try to have fun, I fall behind on my work. I want to do my work, I feel like I’m neglecting the kids. The list goes on and on. It’s a constant struggle, as I’m sure most parents know, to try and figure out what the right things to do are. Another thing I struggle with is menus!
My kids don’t like anything that I make, or so it seems. I try and feed them things I think they might enjoy, only to see plate after plate go into the garbage. It’s extremely frustrating to say the least. That’s when I decided I was going to take dinner back a few years, or a few decades.
I started making up dishes that my Grandma and Mom used to. Low and behold… the kids loved it! Who would have thought a simple dish like this mac and ham from Recipe Lion would disappear so fast? At least I know I finally got something right… for now.
