A few Sundays ago, as my husband and I were walking out of church, a couple of our good friends stopped us and asked if we would like to join them for lunch at their house. We didn’t have anything planned so we agreed and headed on over in their direction. It was a beautiful day so we sat outside on the back deck and listened to the birds chirp and watched the other wildlife in the yard. It was a very relaxing and entertaining time. When Susan asked us all about lunch, we agreed to stay right where we were.
She brought us out a plate each and then a nice big pot of chicken stroganoff. It looked and smelled irresistible. I took a big ol’ portion for myself along with one of her homemade slices of bread. I think we continued to sit outside for a few more hours enjoying our meal and good conversation.
Before we even knew it, it was time to go. I asked Susan about her recipe before we left, and she told me that it was her Aunt’s from years ago. She quickly jotted down the simple instructions and away we went!
