My son was coming home from college for the weekend. He was nice enough to inform me while he was on the road about 20 minutes away. “And I’m starving Mom!” Of course, of course you are. I started to scramble around the kitchen looking for something to make. I picked up the phone to order some takeout, and then I remembered a recipe for bow-tie lasagna that I had seen on Tasty Kitchen. There were a few things that stood out to me about that recipe. One, the word lasagna… my favorite! The other thing was the fact that it would be done in just fifteen minutes!
I rushed through all my ingredients in the kitchen and discovered that I was in fact prepared to make this. Well alright then! I got right to work. It went together so super fast. I couldn’t believe it almost. The smell was amazing, too. It smelled just like a real lasagna cooking.
As soon as my boy walked in the door, I was putting the finishing touches on. He said, “Why didn’t you say you were already making dinner?” Because I wasn’t son, because I wasn’t. I just scooped him a big plate and laid a fat kiss on him and welcomed him home.
