One of the most nostalgic smells in the world to me, is waking up to the smell of pot roast cooking on a Sunday morning. Every Sunday morning my mom would put a roast in the oven in the morning to cook while we went to church. This was a tradition in my family and it was wonderful smell to wake up to. Even better than waking up to coffee brewing, which is one of my favorites as well.
I come from a meat and potato family and pot roast was a frequent meal that we had. Not to mention, a meal that we loved and I still do to this day. Pot Roasts are one of those meals that I would consider a meal from North or Midwest, which is where i grew up.
I now live in the south and I still love to cook these wonderful meals from back home. Most people down here do not cook a lot of pot roasts. I started trying to put a spin on these roasts when I had friends over.
I wanted it to sound a little more than just northern food. So, I tried this Tuscan pot roast recipe and it was a huge hit! Everyone loved it and is now a frequent meal in my own home!
