I was never a fan of seafood or fish most of my life. I never really gave it a chance and just assumed that I would not like any of it! I was always told by numerous people that I just hadn’t had it cooked right. I would retort that everyone says that and I still don’t like it. That was until one day when little did I know, I may not have had seafood cooked right.
I took a trip to Main to go to a wedding. I was right by the sea. It was so picturesque! Sailboats, quaint houses, beautiful scenery, and lighthouse! This was a beautiful state! I had no idea. And one thing about Main is that the seafood life is very prominent when it comes to cuisine. I immediately thought that I was not going to like any of the food.
Everyone tried to get me to try a lobster roll. No thank you! Then I was at a restaurant and our waiting saw the faces I was making at the food. He asked me if I liked macaroni and cheese. I told him yes of course! He said that he had a dish for me that I would love and would change my mind about seafood. That was the day that I tried shrimp macaroni and cheese! I loved it!
It was cooked perfectly and was just the right introduction into the seafood world that I needed. This recipe is absolutely delicious.
