When my husband and I decided that we were going to get married, finally, after eight years of dating, we knew that we were going to have to save, save, save. There wasn’t anyone that was going to help us with the expenses. After we had our dream wedding planned out and started the process of putting money away, we started to re-think the whole thing. Sure, we still wanted to get married, but did we really want the big fancy wedding?
There was so much else that we could do with that money, like have a honeymoon! So, we switched everything around so that we could have a more affordable wedding, and a honeymoon vacation in Jamaica! After the wonderful day spent with family and friends, we boarded our plane to our ideal vacation spot.
It was the most incredible trip ever, really a trip of a lifetime. I would go back there in a heartbeat for the sun, water, relaxation, and the food! Their jerk chicken was something to write home about. When I found a slow cooker recipe on Dinner, then Dessert, I couldn’t wait to make it.
Even my husband said it was just as good as those authentic meals we had back on the island!
