Recently, we moved into a new neighborhood so that we would be in a better location to raise our family. It was close to the schools and parks, and it was a safe street. We were excited, anxious, and very nervous to say the least. Thankfully, we had very friendly neighbors. As soon as we moved in, several people came over to welcome us to the area. We were beyond grateful to get such a warm welcome. Our direct next door neighbors were a couple about our same age.
Jennifer and Bob extended an invitation for us to come over for dinner the following evening. They knew that we were going to be exhausted from all the moving and organizing, so it was a nice gesture. When we walked in, we were greeted with the most wonderful smell.
It ended up being a chicken teriyaki dish just like this one from The Seasoned Mom. I told Jennifer that she didn’t have to go through all that trouble, she must have been cooking for hours. She assured me that it didn’t take long at all, and it was really no trouble.
Dinner was amazing, and I’m certain me made some lifelong friends in the process.
