It was a holiday weekend, and we had family coming in from all over the state. I was the one daughter, cousin, Aunt, whatever you want to call me, that never moved away from our hometown. Of course, Grandma, the parents, and the older generations were still around, but as far as the younger ones, I was all that was left. So, when everyone came home, they fought over who got to stay with us… we had the “fun house.”
In no time at all, our spare rooms were booked up, along with the couch, the den, and even the small bedroom we had set up in the basement. That meant a lot of extra mouths to feed over the weekend… what was I going to cook?
I decided on a hearty meat pie recipe that I had seen on All Recipes. It looked like a great way to kick of the morning and really fill everyone up. It worked! There weren’t any kids, or adults that were disappointed. And it took hours before we heard the dreaded, “I’m hungry,” so that’s a winner in my book!
