My mother decided that she wanted to have a garage sale to kick off the summer. She had done some serious spring cleaning, so she had a boat load of things she wanted to get rid of. The street that she lived on was known for their early morning garage sales over the Memorial Weekend holiday and she wanted to be up with the rooster. So, my sister and I told her that we would help her get through this big job. A garage sale always sounds like a good idea, until you get into the middle of it.
It’s a lot of work! The day of the opening, we lifted the garage door and started carrying things out before the sun even came out. By the time breakfast came and went, we were starving. At the end of the day, I said we weren’t doing that again.
So, the next morning, when things slowed down, I went inside and made up this butterscotch breakfast ring that I had seen on All Recipes. It was just what we needed to power us through the rest of the day. It was so good looking, someone even asked us if it was for sale!
