When my mom and step-dad got divorced, it was one of the most devastating things that I had ever gone through. He was the only dad that I ever knew, and now we no longer had any ties to him. He had no rights to us, so at the age of about 15, he disappeared from my life, for what I thought was forever. That was, until I turned 18. He took the initiative to reach out to me and my siblings, and I couldn’t have been more thrilled about it.
He asked if we wanted to come over for dinner and catch up, and we headed right over without hesitation. He was still living on his own, but doing very well for himself it appeared. He had even made dinner!
We had no idea that he could even cook so that was pretty crazy. I asked him where he got the recipe and he said he found it on The Recipe Rebel. We congratulated him on his talents and spent hours sitting at the table catching up.
Now we make it a regular thing to go over there and hang out, and he can make these stuffed shells without any complaint from me!
