I remember my wedding shower, over twenty years ago. It was a happy day with all my closest friends and family. I was young, and inexperienced when it came to life outside of my parent’s house. I got a lot of really great gifts that day. Some of them I knew I would use, others I was a little confused on but I took them each with gratitude. One of those items was a slow cooker. I had never seen one before. My mom had cooked everything either in the oven or on the stove.
We didn’t have a crock pot in our house. I never realized how much I would use that thing that day when I opened it. Over the years I compiled a nice book of slow cooker recipes that I used all the time!
One of my favorite meals was a slow cooker creamy vegetable soup just like this one from The Recipe Rebel. It’s great on cold winter evenings and warm summer days too. There are no limits when you can eat soup.
This is one that is always around my house year round. I still use that same crock pot that I got from my shower too!
