We were going to be having a card party at my house. All my friends were coming over and we were going to be making birthday cards for the members of our church. It’s one thing that we do that I think sets us apart from some of the other churches in the area. We make our own handmade cards and every member that has submitted their birth date and address to us gets one.
It’s a lot of work, but it’s fun to get together with all the ladies that work on them with me. I wanted to have a nice dessert to keep us fueled up for the afternoon, so I took a recipe that I saw on The Recipe Rebel for a caramel apple cake and tossed it in the slow cooker.
I thought it was perfect because I wasn’t sure when everyone was going to arrive, and I wanted them all to get a nice warm dessert to work with.
It turned out perfectly and all the women really loved it. I think this will be going to a lot of events with me from now on!
