Next week we’ll finally be flying to Tokyo and I am probably the most excited among the four of us. It’s been so long since I have set foot in Japan; and that was when my husband was still just my fiance. We promised each other before that we’ll come back when we finally have our kids. It should have been years before, but real life events affected our schedule. But now that we have that huge chance- I am super thrilled. Our kids will love Japan- the weather, the people, and the scenery. Language barrier is a bit difficult, but the Japanese people are always willing to help the best they can.
Speaking of Japan, I recently woke up having this strange thought, which elicited a laugh from my husband. I told him, “since we’re going to Japan, we should start feeling the vibe. Let me go and prepare miso soup.” There’s nothing strange about that, is there?
That day, I prepared miso soup for the family along with fried fish and rice. I even went so far as to take out the set of chopsticks, a gift from one of my husband’s colleagues, so the vibe would feel complete. It has been a satisfying meal to say the least.
The soup goes so well with the fish and the rice- we all loved the complementary dishes. All I can say is… we’re ready for you, Japan!
