It doesn’t matter whether you’re a kid or you’re a full grown adult with a family. Whenever you taste your Mom’s cooking, you will always feel right at home. That’s how Mom’s cooking always affects us. My husband grew up in a family where his mother was a bigger influence than his papa. Their papa was a quiet man who doesn’t interfere a lot as long as he knows his wife can handle it. I will always be grateful that my husband turned out the way he is because of their tutelage.
Last week, my husband fell ill. It was a simple flu, but I never did like seeing any of them get sick. It’s natural though- it happens to him every time there’s a change in season.
I was really worried for our kids so I brought them over to my brother’s house and let them stay there until their Dad felt well. My brother and his wife were just too happy to have the kids over for my niece and nephew. I had all the time in the world to take care of my husband.
I ended up calling my mother-in-law for her chicken noodle soup recipe because I knew it would make him feel better. He did feel better after being warmed up by the tasty soup. After a couple of days, he finally recovered.
I knew that chicken noodle soup wasn’t a miracle soup; but I can also say that it’s an old family recipe created for the people my mother-in-law loves.

Quick Tip: If you like, skip the noodles and stir in your favorite cooked grain at the end.
