Don’t Tell Mom, But This Beef Stew’s Better Than Hers

I am a fan of my Mom’s cooking- there is no question about that. I have always admitted that my cooking will never be on par with hers because she’s just Super Mom. My kids once heard me call her that, so she was amused when they called her Super Mom the last time we saw her. But I knew how much she feels elated because she’s aware of how much I look up to her. Mom’s cooking is like that cherry on top of a fantastic sundae- your happiness won’t be complete without that certain touch.

My husband is the number one fan of my Mom’s cooking. One time he even told me that he preferred my Mom’s version of mashed potatoes more than her Mama’s. It wouldn’t have been a huge issue if my mother-in-law didn’t take pride in her mashed potatoes.

But of course I kept it a secret. I will not destroy a perfectly good in-laws relationship just because of mashed potatoes. I am totally kidding- that’s too superficial to destroy the friendship of two amazing women.

I missed my Mom all the time, which always pushes me to recreate one of her specialty dishes. I mentioned before how much I am in love with her beef stew. It’s always a constant presence in our dining table.

However, don’t tell Mom. But I found a beef stew recipe over at Food Network that can give her stew a run for its money. Check it out on the next page!
