My husband recently finished a project that he’s been heading for a long time. He’s the “star” of the show, therefore everyone was dependent on him to make it work. It was super successful so he and the team decided to celebrate it. They rented this small function room at a restaurant and invited their families- wives and children mostly. There were about twenty of us in there including six kids. It was a pretty enjoyable dinner.
I was a bit uncomfortable before the night because it involved dressing up. My husband simply looked at me, amused, and told me that I could wear jeans if I liked. I would have if it weren’t for the fact that it wasn’t his colleagues- I didn’t want them to think my husband has such a rebellious wife.
Anyway, I forgot all about my discomfort upon meeting everyone. There was just this friendly atmosphere that would make you forget about your worries. And of course, there’s the spread on the table- who wouldn’t be distracted by those line up of food?
One of the most remarkable dishes that night was the spareribs. Fall-off-the-bone ribs that tastes so finger-licking good. The ribs were flavored with this sweet-salty, citrusy-savory taste that you will not get enough of.
I recreated that dish a few days after the event for my family using this recipe from My Recipes. It tasted almost as good- my family didn’t have any complaints.
