The narrator of the show explained the source of the debate before it finally revealed which really came first.
Apparently, it was the chicken that came first. The substance found in egg shells can only be found in chicken. That fact ended the long debate concerning this issue.
Talking about eggs triggered something within me so I decided to make an egg noodle casserole that night. We had egg noodles in the cupboard and beef on the fridge so this was the perfect recipe. I made a side dish of roasted vegetables and homemade bread to pair with this recipe.
It never did matter to my family which came first in this casserole- the egg noodle or the beef. What mattered to them was the taste. Their plates were squeaky clean after meal time; and that ended the debate that didn’t even start yet.
