There would probably be leftovers for the next day after your family feasted on this. Even though my husband eats a lot, there are only so much meat he could eat. So most of the time, we have leftovers for the next day. You can use the leftover pork in sandwiches, quesadilla, or as toppings in a pizza. Just recently, I tried adding this to fried rice- there was never a need for something to eat it with. The flavor of the pork made the rice taste good and flavorful already without the aid of more ingredients. You’re going to love this as much as my family did.

It’s going to surprise you. And when you’re done being surprised, you will finally be able to appreciate the taste of this marvelous Asian barbecue recipe. This fusion of east and west is definitely a recipe to die for.
Ingredients
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 1 tbs ginger grated
- 1 tsp McCormick Chinese 5 spice powder optional
- 1/4 c Great Value soy sauce low sodium
- 1/4 c Lee Kum Kee hoisin sauce
- 1 tsp Cookwell sesame oil
- 2 tsp Lee Kum Kee chili garlic paste
- 2 tbs Hunt’s tomato paste
- 1 c College Inn chicken broth low sodium
- 2 lb Tyson boneless pork shoulder Boston butt
- Fresh cilantro optional garnish
Instructions
- Whisk together the first 7 ingredients (garlic through tomato paste) as well as half of the chicken broth in a small bowl.
- Place pork in a large zip lock bag or glass dish and cover with marinade.
- Refridgerate for several hours or overnight.
- Place pork and marinade in a slow cooker and cook on Low for 8 hours.
- Remove pork from slow cooker and let rest for 20 minutes.
- Place remaining 1/2 c of chicken broth in the slow cooker and cook on High for 30 minutes.
- Meanwhile, remove fat cap and shred the pork using two forks.
- Add shredded pork back into the sauce and serve.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro if you wish.
