Pound cakes were one of the cakes my Mom taught me to make when I was responsible enough to handle baking utensils. Her words will always stay in my head: “you have to know the basic cakes so that you will not have a hard time making versions of your own soon enough.” Mom also always told me that a proper woman (and man- she told this to my brother too) should know how to cook and bake the basics. So whatever happens in your life, you can survive with homemade meals instead of take-outs.
One of the first pound cakes I have learned was vanilla pound cake. It’s probably one of my favorites too. Mom taught me a buttercream recipe that I used to frost it with and it tastes good.
My husband loves my vanilla pound cake recipe- he always requests for me to make it whenever I have the time. My kids on the other hand appreciate the chocolate ones better. Well, what can I expect- they have “chocolate tooth”.
This cream cheese pound cake recipe that I am about to share with you is a basic pound cake recipe. Except that the addition of cream cheese makes it a bit more special; makes it a bit more moist and denser than the usual pound cakes. This is a true winner cake recipe for my family.
If you are looking for a cake that you can serve for a small gathering, this is not a bad choice. Everyone will fall in love with this cream cheese pound cake recipe.

Quick Tip: If you have whipped cream cheese instead of packaged cream cheese, it’s fine to use it.
